The GADC Announces Tavia C.M. Gaddy as VP of Economic Development

GREENVILLE, SC – January 16, 2025 – The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Tavia C.M. Gaddy to the position of Vice President of Economic Development. Gaddy, a veteran of the GADC with more than 25 years of experience in urban and rural economic development, has played a key role in recruiting businesses and fostering economic growth across the region.

In her new role, Gaddy will provide leadership in economic development activities, ensuring alignment with the GADC’s mission to attract new business that benefit Greenville County, assist existing industries in expansions, and promote overall economic vitality in Greenville County. She will manage project pipelines, lead the development of new initiatives, and guide the team in expanding Greenville County’s business opportunities. Her extensive background in marketing, rural and urban development, and business recruitment makes her an invaluable asset to the organization.

Since joining the GADC in 2005, Gaddy has been instrumental in driving over $2.5 billion in capital investment and creating more than 16,500 new jobs in Greenville County. Her expertise includes developing detailed economic expansion plans, building stakeholder partnerships, and marketing the county as a prime destination for businesses. In addition to her work with the GADC, Gaddy serves in leadership roles for several professional and community organizations, including as the incoming President of the South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association for 2025-2026.

Gaddy holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Grambling State University. She is actively involved in the community through her affiliations with the Appalachian Development Corporation, Greenville Technical College Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Greenville.
