Last month we published our 2023 Announced Capital Investment Report highlighting the companies and industries that continue to invest in Greenville, South Carolina. The report shows a range of investments from corporate headquarters to medium and small-scale manufacturers in industries such as life sciences, automotive, food and beverage, and advanced manufacturing. The variety of announcements showcases the diverse economic landscape of our community that is key to economic prosperity.

Among our notable announcements in 2023 was Nissin Foods. The ramen manufacturer intends to open their first South Carolina operation in Greenville’s Upstate Trade Center park off of US Highway 25 in the southern portion of the county, strengthening Greenville’s significant Japanese presence. The investment is over $224 million and will create more than 300 jobs. Nissin’s strategic move to Greenville will enhance the company’s continued development while meeting consumer demand. 

Sealed Air, an existing manufacturer in Greenville, announced a $70 million expansion to their facility in Simpsonville where they produce sustainable food packaging. The investment is earmarked for innovation in their existing manufacturing processes. This expansion not only underscores the company’s confidence in the local workforce but also highlights Greenville’s reputation as a business-friendly community that supports the growth and development of existing businesses.

Another notable win in 2023 was Lima One Capital’s announcement for a new headquarters location at the County Square redevelopment project. The new location will support the creation of over 300 jobs and include over $51 million in capital investment. Lima One Capital’s significant investment underscores Greenville’s appeal as a prime destination for corporate expansion and growth.

The Greenville County community is committed to fostering innovation, economic development, and job creation. With a total investment of $596 million and the creation of 1,500 jobs in 2023, the report exemplifies Greenville County’s resilience and attractiveness as a prime destination for businesses to Grow.
