Alfonso “AJ” Leggette Joins the GADC to Lead Economic Development Initiatives Across Greenville County

GREENVILLE, SC – June 24, 2025 – The Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alfonso “AJ” Leggette as Project Manager. In this key role, Leggette will support the GADC’s mission of driving quality job growth and capital investment in Greenville County by leading business recruitment, expansion, and retention efforts.
“AJ brings an energetic, mission-driven approach to economic development, and we’re proud to welcome him to the GADC team,” said Marshall Franklin, Chair of the GADC Board of Directors. “His experience and collaborative mindset will be a great asset as we continue our work to grow jobs and opportunities for the people of Greenville County.”
As Project Manager, Leggette will serve as a liaison to prospective and existing businesses, coordinating site visits, and offering in-depth guidance on community resources and growth opportunities. He will also cultivate strong relationships with local government officials, business leaders, and service providers to ensure Greenville County remains a premier destination for industry and innovation.
“With AJ’s background in both public-private partnerships and industry recruitment, he is uniquely positioned to make an immediate impact,” said Max Stewart, President and CEO of the GADC. “We’re confident he’ll play a key role in supporting local employers, attracting new investment, and building meaningful, lasting relationships across our community.”
Leggette brings with him a strong foundation in economic development and community engagement. A native of Lugoff, South Carolina, he previously served as a Project Manager at the Florence County Economic Development Partnership, where he specialized in project management, product development, industry recruitment, and investor relations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Francis Marion University and is passionate about fostering economic opportunity, community building, and enhancing the quality of life for South Carolinians through strategic growth.
