GADC Publishes 2024 Announced Investments Report

Last month we published our 2024 Announced Capital Investment Report highlighting the companies and industries that continue to invest in Greenville, South Carolina. The report shows a range of investments from corporate headquarters to medium and small-scale manufacturers in industries such as life sciences, automotive, food and beverage, and advanced manufacturing. The variety of announcements showcases the diverse economic landscape of our community that is key to economic prosperity.

Among our notable announcements in 2024 was EnerSys, a lithium-ion battery producer for a broad range of end markets and applications. EnerSys announced an invest of $500 million that will add an estimated 500 high-quality jobs to our area. This announcement marks the beginning of a new era in advanced energy while establishing Greenville as a center for new technologies and advanced energy systems in the southeast. The historic and strategic move to Greenville is significant across several planes including employment, energy security, economic diversification, and new technologies development and innovation.

MP Husky, an established manufacturer in Greenville County, announced an $11.1 million expansion to their facility in Mauldin to increase the facility’s footprint and add state-of-the-art equipment, enhancing production capabilities and driving innovation. In addition, the company is adding 35 jobs, reinforcing the company’s confidence in the local workforce but also highlights Greenville’s reputation as a business-friendly community that supports the growth and development of established businesses.

Another notable win in 2024 was Samaritan Biologics announcement of $5 million and 85 jobs. The life science company, located at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) campus, is a leader in medical technology specializing in human amniotic allograft products. Samaritan Biologics is dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of healthcare providers and patients. By expanding its workforce in Greenville County, Samaritan aims to foster local innovation and support the broader community’s economic growth.

The Greenville County community is committed to fostering innovation, economic development, and job creation. With a total investment of $885 million and the creation of more than 1,300 jobs in 2024, the report exemplifies Greenville County’s resilience and attractiveness as a prime destination for businesses to Grow.
